about me

I grew up in the Wenatchee Valley in Washington State and now live north of Seattle in the beautiful, agricultural Skagit Valley with my husband, two cats and a dog. I earned a degree in Geology from Carleton College in Minnesota, and have studied at Photo Center Northwest in Seattle. I worked as a reference and collections librarian for many years and am now enjoying the opportunity to photograph and write about the amazing area I live in.

In addition to fine art, editorial and commercial photography, I write about food and farming, design websites and provide computer tutoring and support, play Celtic music with my family, make handwoven scarves and other fabrics, and I love to garden.

I have shown my work in solo and group shows around the Northwest, and my photographs and writing have appeared in web and print publications across the country. If you’d like to see my work in person, check out my show schedule; plus you can visit my Facebook page for regular updates and announcements. I always have work hanging at my studio above the Pickford Film Center in downtown Bellingham, open during artwalks and by appointment.

Any of my photographs can be ordered as prints. Sizes and pricing are listed here.
