a wet day in the woods

It was raining hard yesterday, but the maples were glowing against the dark trees and low clouds.

Was out walking after a soft rain and found two cotinus bushes covered with tiny droplets. The photos would be better if I had had my DSLR with a macro lens, but my phone did pretty well.

April artwalk

It’s almost time for the downtown Bellingham April artwalk! I’ve been working on getting more of my misty forest prints mounted on wood blocks, as well as some new flower prints that would make great Easter presents 🙂 I also invested in a display rack for greeting cards and small prints. It’s been weirdly warm in our part of the world, hellebores and minor bulbs shooting out of the ground with alarming rapidity. Time to get out the macro lens.

A few photos from yesterday’s walk at the Port of Skagit trail system. Sometimes I get frustrated with my cell phone camera, other times I’m happily surprised with its quality. This was a mix.
