So the artwalk went well, despite being so disgustingly cold that we barely made it to the (thankfully warm) studio from our car. There were I think five studios open in my building, and a surprising number of hardy souls made it out to look at art, drink wine and eat the cookies I bakedContinue reading “artwalk photobooth”

artwalk tonight!
The sunsets have been amazing this week, with gorgeous clear starry skies afterwards. Don’t forget to come out for the Downtown Bellingham Artwalk tonight! I’ll be in Studio 214 of the Pickford Dreamspace (right above the theater) with photographs, handwoven scarves, Irish music CDs, and probably several bottles of wine. I know it’s really coldContinue reading “artwalk tonight!”
selfies
It’s always easier to work with a model, but I don’t always have one for practicing on. That’s when my remote and/or shutter delay become my friends. Here are a few self portraits I’ve taken in the last week or so, mostly as experiments for different lighting and layering techniques. Weird stuff.
experimenting

thanksgiving
I took this image on Thanksgiving Day in 2011. Today I am thankful for sunshine and a light frost.
Happy Thanksgiving Eve!
squash sighting
Here’s a photogenic squash I saw while out and about the other day. You’re welcome.
November sun
We’re having the most amazing sunny spell here in Western Washington. The first part of the month was typical November, wind and rainstorms and heavy snow in the mountains. But this week it’s cold, crisp and bright. Everyone is soaking up every bit of sunshine possible before the clouds return for the winter.
jump!
This afternoon we walked downtown to a local bakery so I could get a few photos for an article I’m writing. As I walked back to meet my husband, he was making our dog do some basic commands, and I lifted my camera to get a few shots just as she leaped into the airContinue reading “jump!”
Kitty evening
Somehow I never got around to finding a photo to post today, but here’s what I’m doing right now: propping up a cat.
