It’s almost time for the downtown Bellingham April artwalk! I’ve been working on getting more of my misty forest prints mounted on wood blocks, as well as some new flower prints that would make great Easter presents 🙂 I also invested in a display rack for greeting cards and small prints. Come check it out! We will most likely not be open for May artwalk, since that’s traditionally the “children’s artwalk,” but both my father and I will have plenty for sale at the Rexville Grange Art Show in mid-April.
As always, artwalk will run from 6pm until 10pm (or whenever we run out of customers) on first Friday, April 3rd. We are in studio #213 above the Pickford Film Center on Bay Street in downtown Bellingham.
At some point during December, a friend on Facebook challenged me to one of those things where you post a black and white photo each day for five days, tagging a different friend each time. I’ve been getting back into black and white photography more and more, so this was a fun exercise. Here are some of the images I used for the challenge, plus a few others I took around the same time.
My immediate family celebrates Christmas (in a secular sort of way) while our extended family celebrates Hanukkah, but there doesn’t need to be any official observance for celebrating friends, family, good food, and colorful lights in the long winter dark while waiting for the days to lengthen into spring.
I know it’s been quiet in this space, but it hasn’t been because I’m not working. That’s the problem actually – I’ve been doing enough freelance writing that I’m either not taking many photographs, I’m just taking them to go with articles, or the ones I have taken are sitting in my catalog waiting for me to actually look at them. I like writing, but I miss photography. Hopefully I’ll have more stuff to look at here in the near future.
