Embarking on a year of daily photos, here and on my Flickr, Instagram and Facebook pages, if you have a favorite place to follow posts.
the geese returneth
I’m not an experienced bird photographer and don’t have the best lenses for wildlife shooting, but when you’re driving by a field full of newly arrived snow geese and your camera is sitting on the passenger seat, you stop and try your luck. (And yes, this is what winter in Skagit Valley looks like. Although sometimes it’s swans instead of geese.)

April artwalk
It’s almost time for the downtown Bellingham April artwalk! I’ve been working on getting more of my misty forest prints mounted on wood blocks, as well as some new flower prints that would make great Easter presents 🙂 I also invested in a display rack for greeting cards and small prints. Come check it out! We will most likely not be open for May artwalk, since that’s traditionally the “children’s artwalk,” but both my father and I will have plenty for sale at the Rexville Grange Art Show in mid-April.
As always, artwalk will run from 6pm until 10pm (or whenever we run out of customers) on first Friday, April 3rd. We are in studio #213 above the Pickford Film Center on Bay Street in downtown Bellingham.

black and white challenge
At some point during December, a friend on Facebook challenged me to one of those things where you post a black and white photo each day for five days, tagging a different friend each time. I’ve been getting back into black and white photography more and more, so this was a fun exercise. Here are some of the images I used for the challenge, plus a few others I took around the same time.
